Mechanical Technologies, in tandem with Lennox Industries has developed a first-ever solar powered home comfort system called SunSource™.

It reduces home heating and cooling energy consumption AND costs much less to install than a traditional solar panel system.
The new SunSource Home Energy System not only harnesses solar energy from the sun to reduce the electricity consumed by a residential heat pump or air conditioner, it also uses solar power to operate other devices in the home – such as lighting and appliances – when the heating and cooling system is not running. In addition, if the SunSource system generates more power than is used by the home, that power will be sent back to the utility company, which may entitle you to a credit on your utility bill.
The SunSource Home Energy System is composed of:
• A solar-ready, high efficiency Lennox air conditioner or heat pump that has been specially enhanced to serve as the platform for this new home energy system.
• A Lennox solar subpanel that provides the connection between a utility-interactive solar power system and the HVAC unit.
• One to fifteen roof-mounted solar modules that harness clean, sustainable energy from the sun.
• A communications system that allows you to monitor each solar module’s operation and energy production online,
• Sun Source also delivers even heating and cooling in every room. It's highly reliable too, with a single 190-watt solar panel that requires little routine maintenance.
Energy Savings and Tax Credits Equal Real Cost Savings

As an example, a consumer who lives in a typical 2,000-square-foot home in Texas can reduce their electricity usage associated with heating and cooling by about 12% a year by installing a SunSource system with two solar modules. By installing 15 modules, you can expect savings up to 180%, meaning there would be more energy production than air conditioner consumption.
You can also qualify for a 30% federal tax credit, with no upper limit, on your entire purchase, including installation. Equally important, this tax credit is available through 2016.
